Conditions treated:
Ben Steele Podiatry can help with a wide range of foot and lower limb concerns. Offering regular care or one-off treatments. This includes general footcare and advise for nail and skin issues. Along with addressing injuries to the foot, ankle and leg, relating to your biomechanics and gait.

Common foot problems include:

-
Plantar Fasciitis – A painful condition along the arch/heel. Often worse with first steps in morning.
-
Bunions – Bony bumps and deformity of the big toe, leading to discomfort and difficulty walking/wearing shoes.
-
Ingrown toenails – When the edges of a toenail grow into the surrounding skin, causing pain and infection.
-
Corns and calluses – Painful, thickened areas of skin that develop due to pressure or friction.
-
Heel spurs – Calcium deposits that create bony protrusions on the heel bone, leading to pain.
-
Flat feet / Pronation - A condition where the arches of the feet drop, potentially causing pain or discomfort.
-
Athlete's foot – A fungal infection that leads to itchy, cracked, and peeling skin.
-
Diabetic foot complications – Issues like ulcers, poor circulation, and nerve damage that require specialized care.
-
Hammer toes – A toe deformity where toe curls under, causing corns or footwear issues.
-
Achilles tendinopathy – Inflammation/degeneration of the Achilles tendon, often linked to overuse or strain.
-
Arthritis - affecting range of motion of joints. Can cause pain and difficulty walking.
-
Fungal nails - thick or discolored nails.
-
Ankle sprains
-
Forefoot - neuromas, stress fractures, bursitis, sesamoiditis, plantar plate injuries.
Each of these conditions can make walking or standing uncomfortable, and podiatrists provide expert care to manage pain and improve mobility.

Ingrown toenail? Ben can cut the offending nail back (under local anesthetic if necessary) to ease the pain / infection / inflamed skin. Or for ongoing concerns, he can permanently remove a strip of nail so that portion doesn't grow back. This is very successful, performed under local anesthetic within his rooms.

The way you walk, especially poor biomechanics, can also affect your shins, knees, hips and back. Footwear and orthoses can help offload sore areas and help you move better.
Ben approaches your injury not just from a traditional biomechanical/gait view but also looking into training errors, load management, and other extrinsic factors that contribute to accumulated stress on the tissues and the inability to heal. He has many different treatment modalities / interventions at his disposal.
